This notice explains how we use personal information when you visit the BGC website, create or use a free BGC account, complete an assessment or development plan, request information, buy or enquire about a product or service, or choose to receive communications from us.

• Account and identity information, including your name, work email address, business name, position and password credentials. Passwords should be stored securely by our authentication provider and not be visible to BGC.
• Optional profile information, including your home town, mobile number and birthday day and month.
• Account preferences, including your email and WhatsApp marketing choices and the date, time and wording of any consent.
• Development information, including assessment answers, scores, plans, priorities, actions, review dates, notes and downloaded reports.
• Enquiry, coaching and customer information, including messages, bookings, feedback and support requests. Purchase and invoice information relates only to coaching or other services arranged directly with BGC. Online toolkit purchase and payment information will be processed only when online purchasing is activated.
• Technical and usage information, such as IP address, device, browser, security logs, pages visited and cookie choices, where the relevant technology is enabled.

Fields marked with an asterisk are required to create and protect your account. Home town, mobile number and birthday are optional. If you select WhatsApp marketing, you must provide a valid mobile number so we can act on that choice. You may create an account without agreeing to email or WhatsApp marketing.

Email and WhatsApp choices are separate. We will not preselect either option, and agreeing to our Terms of Use or creating an account does not provide marketing consent. You can withdraw a marketing choice at any time by using the unsubscribe or opt-out method in the message, changing your account preferences when available, or emailing support@businessgrowthcoaching.co.uk.

We may keep a limited suppression record after you opt out so that we do not contact you again through that channel by mistake.

We may use carefully selected providers to host the website, authenticate accounts, store data, send emails or WhatsApp messages, process payments, provide analytics, support customers and maintain security. They may use personal information only under our instructions and contractual safeguards, unless they act as a separate controller for a clearly stated service.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, as applicable. • Account and saved-plan information: while your account remains active, then normally for up to 24 months after closure unless a longer period is needed for a legal reason.
• Enquiries and customer-service records: normally for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact.
• Transaction, invoice and tax records: normally for six years after the relevant financial year, where required.
• Marketing consent and preference records: while the choice remains active and afterwards for as long as needed to demonstrate and respect that choice.
• Security logs and technical records: for the shortest period reasonably required for security, investigation and service reliability.

We may retain information for longer where required by law, to resolve a dispute or to establish or defend legal claims. Final system retention settings must match this notice before publication.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to particular uses. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.

Until self-service account closure is available, you can request account closure or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@businessgrowthcoaching.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No online system is completely secure, so you must keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.

BGC tools may calculate scores or generate guidance from the answers you provide. These outputs support reflection and planning. We do not currently use solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

The BGC website and account are intended for people aged 18 or over and are not directed at children.

The website may use essential cookies and, with the appropriate choice, non-essential analytics or marketing technologies. A separate Cookie Notice should explain the live cookies and controls. External websites operate under their own privacy terms.

We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on the website with its effective date. We will provide a clearer notice where a change materially affects how we use personal information.
